Sandy

I froze water to keep our food cold in case the electricity went down-
which it did. Upon returning from an evacuation
3 days later, while emptying the freezer, I noticed how beautifully
the ice blocks froze. The patterns in the ice call to mind
the globe's endangered glaciers.

"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life" ~ Pablo Picasso

While catching up on some blog posts,
I came across a beautiful fashion editorial called Spanish Doll.
So pretty and well done: showcasing color, texture and flair—
the art director in me immediately thought of my photos-

I miss being in Spain...

Le Quatorze Juillet

Art by Pierre Matisse, grandson of Henri Matisse

Le Quatorze JuilletBon Fête to the French or Joyeux Anniversaire to me.
I like having my birthday on a holiday especially a french one! So, in honor
of the french, I will post some Monet inspired photos and a Matisse that
I discovered while researching for this post!

Not Crabby

I am born under the astrological sign of Cancer also known as the crab.
The piece below illustrates elements of the astrological sign
and was used as a self promotional piece. It is a 3D construction that
I created using found and recycled materials.
I like the idea of giving new existence to random objects in unexpected ways.
Happy birthday to all of my fellow crabs (though I like "moon children" better ;)
